Andong National University Successfully Concludes the 3rd National High School Cybersecurity Competition
Andong National University (President: Kwon Soon-Tae) hosted the 3rd National High School Cybersecurity Competition 2021 online on the 21st.
The event was co-organized by the SW Convergence Education Center of Andong National University (Director: Lim Han-Gyu) and the SW-Oriented University Project Group of Daegu Catholic University (Director: Kim Mi-Hye), and supervised by the Cybersecurity Center of Andong National University (Director: Cha Young-Uk). Its goal was to strengthen cybersecurity skills among youth, raise awareness of security, and enhance students’ SW coding and algorithmic capabilities.
The competition was conducted in a Capture The Flag (CTF) format, with problems covering system, mobile, forensics, cryptography, network, and miscellaneous categories.

A total of 37 teams (95 students) from 40 schools nationwide participated, and after reviewing the submitted write-ups, 6 teams were selected as final winners:
- <완전히이해해버린금발미소녀> (Korea Digital Media High / Sunrin Internet High)
- <한번도안틀리고부르기어려운팀명> (Bangsan High / Korea Digital Media High)
- <국립안동대학교 간호학과 23학번> (Sunrin Internet High)
- <한수요> (Korea Digital Media High)
- <난 오늘부터 왕이 될거야!> (Sunrin Internet High / Hyoseong High)
- <기만자들의 모임> (Jaehyun High / Gangwon Science High / Dongnae High)
Awards included 2 Grand Prizes (President of Andong National University, President of Daegu Catholic University), 2 Gold Prizes (Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Superintendent of Education of Gyeongsangbuk-do), and 2 Excellence Prizes (Mayor of Andong, Chief of Andong Police Station). Results were announced via the competition website (http://sc.anu.ac.kr/).
Competition Chairman Professor Cha Young-Uk (Department of Computer Engineering) stated, “With top-class students nationwide, including participants of the DEF CON finals, this competition has firmly established itself as a prestigious national event.”
The competition was powered by problem and web server technologies jointly developed by the Next-Generation Network Lab of Andong National University’s Department of Computer Engineering and DJ Family. To ensure fairness in the online event, webcams and a proprietary monitoring program were also employed.
