2025 Gumi Asian Athletics Championships – Successful Operation of SportsXOS
A proven case of SportsXOS’s stability and reliability, covering competition record automation, data integrity, and on-site screen broadcasting for an international event.
In 2025, the Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi went beyond a simple sports event, setting a new standard for international competitions where technology and data reliability are key.
Q. What is SportsXOS?
Previously, SportsXOS was used as a system delivered for specific competitions.
However, for the Gumi Asian Athletics Championships, a productized version of the system—refined from the program validated at the 20th Yecheon Asian U20 Athletics Championships—was applied.

SportsXOS goes beyond a simple record management system, functioning as an integrated platform that enables:
Automated competition record processing
Ensured data integrity
Real-time synchronization with the official website
Instant scoreboard display
As soon as competition records are entered, they are automatically reflected on the website, allowing real-time viewing of event results and medal standings.
In addition, scoreboard broadcasting and record sheet printing are carried out immediately, so that organizers, athletes, and spectators can share fast and accurate information simultaneously.
Q. How is SportsXOS different from when it was used in the U20 Championships?
With this version upgrade, SportsXOS underwent a complete overhaul in both its architecture and UI/UX.

1️⃣ Backend Innovation
Moved away from the existing HTML + PHP-ba
Redesigned into an e-Government Framework-ba

2️⃣ Frontend Overhaul
Applied the Vue 3 framework, enabling function separation by components.
Improved code reusability and scalability, enhanced asynchronous processing and state management.
Capable of flexible response even in large-scale operating environments.
3️⃣ Enhanced User Convenience
Added font size adjustment, improved heat assignment, competition schedule, athlete, and country management functions.
Made the record input screen more intuitive, strengthened accessibility → even first-time users can easily operate it.
In short, this was not just a visual change but a structural technological upgrade, significantly enhancing stability and operational efficiency of the competition system.
Q. How did you prepare for the 2025 Gumi Asian Athletics Championships?
We first analyzed the limitations of the existing system and then completely redesigned it with the e-Government Framework + Vue 3-ba
Next, we carried out repeated tests and verifications at multiple domestic pre-tournaments under the same conditions as the actual operating environment.
This allowed us to refine key functions such as record input, heat assignment, record sheet printing, and website integration, ensuring the system could respond flexibly to various scenarios that might occur during actual events.
In particular, we simulated international-level concurrent user access and focused on maintaining data integrity and processing speed.
Q. Were there any challenges in completely overhauling the SportsXOS system?
The biggest challenge was building a secure server.
To pass the National Intelligence Service’s highest-level penetration testing (top-tier security audit), we had to repeat multi-stage security inspections and continuous system structure reinforcement.

As a result, the system was able to safely prevent data tampering even during actual hacking attempts, and with a real-time monitoring framework in place, it ensured stable operation throughout the entire competition period.
